Job Description

Position Title:          Logistics Assistant

Reports to:               Purchasing Logistics Agent

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Generate and process necessary shipping documents for outbound shipments
  • Assists supervisor in proper storage, allocation, and management of inventory
  • Interacts with logistics service providers directly or through web based applications to ensure on time arrival or document product flow issues
  • Schedule inbound and outbound carrier appointments
  • Assigns carriers to shipments based on established routing guides
  • Works closely and co-operates with personnel adhering to all food safety procedures
  • Conveys by words and actions ACT Values and the guiding principle of HB Specialty Foods: Unique Solutions for Better Results
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, organizational, time management skills and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Good working knowledge of various computer software programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be flexible, have a “can do” attitude, and be able to work well with other team members

Superior Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience with brokering or dispatching, food grade, full and less than truckload shipments
